Congress Proceedings
The Proceedings of the XVII FIT World Congress held in Tampere, Finland in August 2005, have been released. This 250-page book, edited by Leena Salmi and Kaisa Koskinen, contains a total of 89 thematically arranged papers that give readers an excellent overview of the topics discussed during the Congress.
Cinquante Ans de la FIT - 1953-2003
is the history of FIT. Written in French by Mr. René Haeseryn, a long-time former Secretary General of FIT, the book was published on the occasion of the Federation's 50th anniversary, in 2003. The English version, FIT over Fifty Years 1953-2003 translated by Ms. Marion Boers, was released in 2005.
Translation Terminology
This terminology collection presents approximately 200 concepts that can be considered the basic vocabulary for the practical teaching of translation. Four languages are included: French, English, Spanish and German. Nearly twenty translation teachers and terminologists from universities in eight countries (Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States and Venezuela) defined the concepts and tried to present the in pedagogical form, with notes and examples. The authors are Monique C. Cormier, Jean Delisle and Hannelore Lee-Jahnke.
