September will be around before we know it, so it is time to start planning for International Translation Day 2013.

This is the day to celebrate our profession together all across the world.

It is an opportunity for us to look with pride on what we as members of the translation, interpreting and terminology community achieve on a daily basis and for us to bring this to the attention of the public and those in other professions.

The theme for 2013 is Beyond Linguistic Barriers – A United World, which was proposed by our Congolese member, the Association de Traducteurs et Interprètes Professionnels du Congo (ATIPCO). We hope the attached communiqué will provide inspiration for your thoughts on how to highlight this very special day for the linguistic community.
