The Memorandum of Understanding between @fit_ift, @FIT_Europe and @avteur was signed by @FIT_President Kevin Quirk and AVTE Vice President @HenrikOslo today, securing mutual recognition and cooperation in many years to come!

Oksana Stoianova, Ukrainian translator currently based in Bulgaria, joined our meeting in person: “Translators are extremely important in times of war. By translating Ukrainian authors, translators spread the Ukrainian identity and cultural heritage”

Natalia Pavliuk, President of the Ukrainian Association of Translators and Interpreters UATI, addresses the delegates by stressing the importance of international cooperation with other organisations in a situation of crisis @nataly_linguist

Slyvynsky mentioned the importance of translation to help the Ukrainian people who - besides medical and humanitarian assistance - also need books. Western European and American publishers are translating mainly children’s books to support Ukrainian refugee families
